By Bus
Take the X2 eastbound from Gallery Place Chinatown (bus stop is on the south side of H Street, near the arch). There is a bus stop right in front of the H Street Playhouse at 1365 H Street, NE.Or, take the X8 bus from Union Station to Maryland Avenue and 13th Street, NE. Walk down 13th Street two blocks, turn right on H Street, and walk half a block to H Street Playhouse.
By Metro
The closest Metro stop is Union Station on the red line (12 blocks away). From there, take the X8 bus, the free H Street shuttle, or a cab from Union Station to the H Street Playhouse.H Street Shuttle
The H Street Business Cooperative, a not-for-profit organization charged with addressing the transportation needs of the H Street Northeast businesses, operates a new shuttle system that will be run by U Street Parking and Transportation.The Shuttle is FREE to all riders but is aimed at patrons from different areas of the city and the surrounding regions heading to H Street NE to enjoy the city's newest arts, nightlife, and retail destinations. Look for passenger vans with the Green and White H ST NE logo an all sides.
The Shuttle will run 7 evenings a week from 5 pm until the Metro closes; 12 am Sunday through Thursday and 3 am Friday and Saturday.
The eastbound shuttle stops are
* Gallery Place Metro (Red Line) 7th and H Street NW. Pick up in front of Zengo Restaurant, 781 7th Street NW.
* 5th and H Street NE
* 10th and H Street NE
* 1333 H Street NE (the Atlas Performing Arts Center)
* Starburst Intersection, 15th and H and Florida Ave NE (The Argonaut Tavern)
* Minnesota Avenue Metro (Orange Line)
Westbound stops are

Driving directions
Please note: Construction crews are working on H Street between Union Station and 14th Street NE. Please allow yourself at least 20 minutes to drive down H Street and park.From I-395 North
Staying on I-395 North follow all signs into Washington, DC.
Once you cross over the river into the city stay on I-395 N. When the road divides into 295 and 395, stay in the right lanes to continue on I-395 N.
Take the exit for Massachusetts Avenue. Once you are on this off ramp, stay straight to get onto 2nd Street, NW.
In less than .10 of a mile you will reach the intersection with H Street, NW. Turn right onto H Street, NW.
H Street Playhouse is between 13th and 14th streets on the right side of the road. You can park anywhere there is a meter ($0.25 per hour). On-street parking is free on weekends and after 6:30pm on weekdays.
From I-95 South
Merge onto US-50 W / New York Ave NE toward Washington. When the road forks, keep left to continue on New York Ave NE.
In less then .10 of a mile, you will reach the intersection of New York Ave NE and Bladensburg Road NE. Turn left onto Bladensburg Road NE.
After 1.3 miles you will reach the intersection of Bladensburg Road NE, Benning Road NE, Maryland Avenue NE and H Street NE. Veer to the right (not quite a 90 degree turn) onto H Street.
H Street Playhouse is between 13th and 14th streets on the left side of the road. You can park anywhere there is a meter ($0.25 per hour). On-street parking is free on weekends and after 6:30pm on weekdays.
From Massachusetts Avenue, NW/Downtown
Take Massachusetts Avenue NW east toward Union Station.
Continue past Union Station until you arrive at Stanton Park (the intersection of Massachusetts and 4th Street NE).
Turn right and follow Massachusetts Avenue around the park in the center lane by turning left at each corner of the park until you arrive at 6th Street NE (the top of the park). Turn LEFT one last time onto 6th Street NE.
Continue on 6th Street NE until you reach the intersection of 6th Street and H Street NE. Turn right onto H Street NE.
